Green River, Tuxedo and Zirconia Community Plan
The Green River-Tuxedo-Zirconia (GRTZ) Community Plan Advisory Committee held a meeting to receive public input on the Draft GRTZ Community Plan on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the Green River Fire Department. An online survey was provided for residents who are unable to attend the meeting. The GRTZ Committee will review the public comment and formally approve the Draft Plan before presenting the plan to the Planning Board and Board of Commissioners. Background: On April 2, 2012 the Board of Commissioners approved the creation of a community plan for the Green River, Tuxedo & Zirconia area. This Community Plan is the fourth of a series recommended by the County’s Comprehensive Plan adopted in 2004. The County previously completed community plans for Etowah, Horse Shoe, Edneyville, and Dana.
The planning effort will be guided by community input and an advisory committee consisting of 10 members who live, work or own property or a business within the planning area boundary. Below are links to the adopted charter, an overview of the planning process, and the current community planning area boundary map.
